Mt. Olive Lutheran School

Information Updated March 2020

Mt. Olive Lutheran School and Preschool has been offering Christian education in Delano for more than 60 years. Their mission statement has three main objectives, which the school and preschool strive to meet every day:

1. To provide families with a knowledge of Jesus as their savior.

2. To train students in all areas of academics.

3. To encourage families in Christian living.

Mt. Olive Lutheran Preschool is a state-licensed and 4-star Parent Aware rated preschool that offers a variety of scheduling options for your child(ren). Children 33 months to 5 years of age are welcome to enroll and be a part of the preschool. Mt. Olive Lutheran School offers education from kindergarten through grade 8 and is fully accredited through MNSAA (Minnesota Nonpublic School Accreditation Association).

At Mt. Olive, students are taught a Christ-centered education where they learn that they are redeemed children of God and forgiven through their savior’s death and resurrection. The teachers teach this by daily studying God’s Word and integrating God’s Word into other subjects. Mt. Olive also teaches the core subjects: mathematics, reading, language arts, social studies, science, and the fine arts to prepare students for high school and the rest of their lives.

A teacher-to-student ratio of about 1:10 allows the teacher to give each individual student the attention he or she needs to grow academically. Along with this teacher-to-student ratio, Mt. Olive has multi-grade classrooms. This allows the students to learn from one another and create a family atmosphere within each and every classroom.

Mt. Olive also offers many extracurricular opportunities for its students in athletics, academics, and the arts.
